About Dartle
Dartle is a free daily trivia game that started on September 29, 2026. It mixes two things: the general-knowledge fun of a quiz and the arithmetic of a darts checkout, where a player has to finish on exactly the right number. Every day there's one category, every answer is worth a number, and you try to make exactly 100 in 3 darts or fewer. See how to play for the full rules.
Where the numbers come from
Every category is built from a published source: Wikipedia lists, official bodies such as national statistics offices, sports leagues and award academies, or well-known datasets. The source and the date the data reflects are shown on every puzzle, so you can always check an answer.
We never type values in from memory. Each source is downloaded once and saved, and the category is built from that saved copy by a script, so the numbers on a puzzle are exactly what the source said on that date. When a source has edge cases, such as ties, merged entries, renamed teams or values that need rounding, we decide how to count them and write it down in the category's notes.
How each puzzle is checked
- It has to be possible. A program works out every way to hit exactly 100 before a category is scheduled. A category with no way to do it is rejected, and one with fewer than 5 ways is flagged as too hard.
- It has to be fair. Answers are matched by their common names and spellings, and by French names too, so you aren't marked wrong for writing “USA” instead of “United States”.
- It shouldn't repeat too soon. Categories are spread out so the same one doesn't come back for weeks, and never within 60 days once there are enough of them.
You can browse every category that has been played so far, with its notes and source.
In French
Dartle is also available in French at dartle.net/fr, with the same daily puzzle and French names for answers.
Suggest a category
Many categories come from players. Use the suggestion box at the bottom of any page. The best ideas have lots of well-known answers whose numbers mostly sit under 100, from an official or widely used source.
Other daily games from us
- Peakle: name things from a category, each one higher than the last.
- Duetle: two hidden words made from the same five letters. Find both in seven guesses.
